Pecan Herringbone Floor

For this home, we installed  7" X 28" Pecan flooring in a Herringbone pattern. This pattern creates a unique look and can add a lot to the feel of a home. This floor has a Whisper Gray stain color with a antique brown glaze and a semi-gloss, acid finish.

After installation and wire brushing, we buffed a white Magic Oil finish onto the floor. The final result is stunning.

After laying the cork underlay, we installed a farmhouse pattern using 3, 5, 4 and 8-inch board widths. This look makes the floor have a unique pattern. Notice the floor joints do not run in lateral lines, because of the different sizes of board widths installed together in a common row.

After installation, we did a heavy wire-brush texture on the floor, which is noticeable in this photo.

For this home, we laid down a cork underlay for sound absorption. This makes the noise quieter for the levels below and creates a more comfortable surface impression for walking. This is the process of laying the cork below the wood flooring.
