For this home, we laid down a cork underlay for sound absorption. This makes the noise quieter for the levels below and creates a more comfortable surface impression for walking. This is the process of laying the cork below the wood flooring.

Colony Lot 172 Final Stage-- Park City Parade of Homes House 4
This home, done for Jaffa Group is featured in the Park City Parade of Homes, House number 4. For the final look of this floor, we hand-buffed Magic Oil grey onto the 8" White Oak using the iron buff technique. Colony Lot 172-- Park City Parade of Homes House 4
For this home, we custom installed an 8" White Oak wood floor over a radiant heat Warmboard. We did a wired brush texture with an old world staining technique known as iron buff. We used a Magic Oil grey topcoat for the final look. This home was shown in the 2014 Park City Parade of Homes, House number 4. To see this home in person, visit The Park City Parade of Homes and purchase tickets and stop by from August 29 - September 1.
Roxbury Final Phase
After the stain, touch-up and first coat of finish, we have coated the final project with a satin, clear finish. The final project looks clean and smooth and requires little maintenance.

Roxbury Phase 2
Here are some more updates of the Roxbury Project. We just added one coat of stain after we sanded and touched up the existing wood. Still a few more steps until it is completed so stay tuned! Don't be intimidated by old existing wood; most floors can be re-done and made to look like new.

Wilford Avenue
Our most recent project: Wilford.
Freshly installed 6", 8", 10" White Oak with a Pallmann White Magic Oil Finish. We installed this beautiful wood over an existing hardwood floor. The entire process took a little less than a week and completely changed the look of this home. The homeowner went with a white finish look to make the space appear larger and more open.
White Oak hardwood flooring ranges from nearly white sapwood to the tans and browns of heartwood. The creamy, soft colors of natural white oak flooring make a space feel light and airy, calm and serene. In a formal setting, this translates to a look of refined elegance. In a modern setting, the look is casual and unfussy.

Tighter, straighter grain
– The closely spaced growth rings of slower-growing white oak result in
a tight, straight grain pattern that gives white
oak hardwood flooring a satiny, smoother texture
that’s more uniform and less busy than red oak. The surface is also
distinguished
by longer, darker lines, or “rays” that add to
white oak’s attractiveness.
More durable
– White oak rates a higher 1360 on the hardwood hardness scale over red
oak’s 1290, making it slightly more durable. White
oak hardwood flooring may be a better option for
high traffic areas like entryways, hallways, and kitchens. Its
increased
durability means it can also better withstand
the possibility of dents, dings, and impact.
Oak floors have
always been in style, thanks in part to oak’s legendary beauty and
durability. One of the most attractive
traits of white oak hardwood flooring is that
it’s as endearing as it is enduring. Consider the unique qualities of
white
oak hardwood flooring and see how it can help
define the personality of your home.

Roxbury Project: Part 1
We are excited to share with you pictures from one of our most recent projects. We have started a new project called "Roxbury." This is a remodel of a very large home.
The existing wood is 2" x 0.5" Red and White Oak mix. Years of wear and tear have left the wood damaged and in rough condition. We are adding additional wood and we are going to re-sand and re-finish the existing hardwood and make it look like new. Many older homes have hardwood under carpet or tile. So if you're interested in installing hardwood in your home, lift up the carpet and check to see if there is hardwood already installed; sometimes you will be pleasantly surprised to find that your home already has wood and all you need to do is sand and finish the wood and effectively change the entire look and feel of your home.
We will post more pictures as the project develops.
Feel free to email or call if you have questions or would like an estimate. The Holidays are a great time to improve the aesthetics and look of your home!
